The 2012 Crankies: And The Losers Are…

December 28, 2012

Before I move on to my celebration of 2012’s best films, directors and performers, let’s dispense with the worst. I’ve already named my bottom 12 movies, so here are my second annual Crankies, named in honor of my semi-defunct blog with Bret Watson, Two Cranky Guys. What, only FIVE nominees this time? Also, in what bizarro world are Anna Faris and Amy Adams(!) WORSE than Chelsea Handler (This Means War, Fun Size), Catherine Zeta Jones (Rock of Ages), and esp. Nicole Kidman (The Paperboy), to name just three?

Good call on Keira Knightley, but she was even more dreadful in Seeking a Friend For the End of the World!

No one had a worse year acting-wise than Tyler Perry- he fizzled in comedy (Madea’s Witless Protection), drama (Good Deeds), AND action (Alex Cross); it’s quite probable no one has stunk so much in so many genres in one calendar year…
